750-metric-ton crawler crane for the new SBB Aare Bridge in Solothurn
With cantilevers extending up to 108 meters, EMIL EGGER supported the assembly of the new steel structure for the SBB Aare Bridge in Solothurn. A total of eleven bridge elements, weighing up to 71 metric tons each, were hoisted into place.

Tandem lift using a 650-tonne and a 450-tonne mobile crane
Following the successful dismantling in June, the next milestone in the refurbishment of the Heideweg Bridge in Biel was reached in September: the new central section of the bridge was hoisted into place over Bernstrasse at the Brüggmoos junction.

LR 11000 lifts new railway bridge into place in Wetzikon
The EMIL EGGER Group’s most powerful crawler crane was deployed during the replacement of the railway bridge over Usterstrasse in Wetzikon. After lifting two abutments, each weighing 210 tonnes, the new steel bridge, weighing 160 tonnes, was precisely positioned at its intended location.

Demolition work using the 450-metric-tonne mobile crane in Biel
During the night of 16 to 17 June 2026, EMIL EGGER was involved in the dismantling of the Heideweg Bridge in Biel. As part of the ongoing renovation work, the central section of the bridge over Bernstrasse at the Brüggmoos junction was dismantled.

Precise crane operation in winter conditions
As part of the construction of the new Säntis suspension railroad, EMIL EGGER was once again able to make a contribution to an important infrastructure project in Eastern Switzerland. Together with the fitters from Garaventa, the existing cabins of the Säntis suspension railroad were safely lifted down into the valley.

Precision in time with rail traffic
On the first weekend in May, EMIL EGGER successfully completed another important construction phase on the Reuss Bridge in Lucerne. The listed railroad bridge – over which around 200 trains pass every day – is currently being extensively renovated. The last major renovation was carried out in 1987.
