The components were unloaded using a 300-tonne pneumatic crane and lifted into position using a 500-tonne lifting system and a long head beam. The heaviest single component – the main turbine – weighed 66 tonnes.
As the general contractor, Caliqua is responsible for the turnkey expansion of the energy centre. Its scope of supply includes, among other things:
- a extraction back-pressure turbine with 10 MW generator output
- an air-cooled condenser
- a heating condenser for district heating
- and all necessary ancillary systems
As a specialist in thermal plants, Caliqua implements sustainable energy centres, combined heat and power plants and district heating systems – from the initial concept to the finished plant.
Together, we are contributing to the energy future of the canton of Zurich:
With the third incineration line, the Hagenholz waste incineration plant will increase its capacity, efficiency and production of electricity and district heating in the future – an important step in view of growing waste volumes and rising energy needs.
