Dismantling of the B43 bridge over the DB facilities in Hanau

Crane work with our 750-ton crawler crane

Work began on December 2, 2024 and is scheduled to be completed by March 2025. The first construction phase had its intensive phase in the last week of December. The second intensive phase will now follow over the next few weeks.

For dismantling, the bridge superstructure is first divided into segments using sawing technology. The bridge sections are then lifted out safely and precisely using a pneumatic and crawler crane.

In order to ensure safety during the work, column supports are being installed in advance to secure the pendulum columns, additional position stabilizers for the superstructure and support towers.

The existing prestressed concrete bridge with a total length of 120 meters will be dismantled mainly during rail closure breaks and in 24-hour operation in order to keep disruptions to rail traffic to a minimum. A particular challenge here is the limited movement space of the large cranes due to the adjacent railroad lines.
