All-terrain crane Tadano AC 7.450-1 Operation in Dübendorf

Expert for little space and great heights

Tadano AC 7.450-1 mobile crane in operation on a high-rise construction site in Dübendorf. Due to the confined space, a compactly built crane with enormous lifting height was required, which can erect construction cranes up to 100 m.

EMIL EGGER’s 7-axle crane is characterized by its compact support: “It could be perfectly adapted to the support grid of the underground garage on whose roof we placed the crane. Without the high flexibility of the outrigger system, we would have had major problems with the positioning of our crane,” explains Beat Greuter, project manager in the heavy cargo division. Another advantage of the latest crane in EMIL EGGER’s fleet is the Surround View camera system. Crane operator Max Frei is enthusiastic about the new efficiency: “Thanks to the surround view, I was able to place the crane in the desired location myself, without a second person.”

“The Surround View is a helpful tool that is also helpful when extending the supports and always gives the crane operator an overview of the slewing radius of his crane,” adds Beat Greuter. For the addition of three construction cranes, the EGGER team equipped the AC 7.450-1 in SSL configuration with a 57.3 m main boom plus a 42 m luffing jib braced at 60° and 70 t counterweight. This enabled the mobile crane to reach the required lifting height of 100 m to assemble the construction crane components weighing up to 19 tons.

The lateral Superlift SSL is also a decisive further development of the AC 7.450-1. In the new concept, the Superlift arms are attached to the very front of the head, in this way they are longer and can lift higher payloads.

Relocation of HPHT presses for Algordanza

Algordanza AG is the only manufacturer of memorial diamonds worldwide. From the urn ashes of the deceased, a diamond is created that can always be carried with you and is everlasting. The isolation of the carbon, by means of a chemical process is carried out in the Swiss laboratory by experienced laboratory technicians. To enable crystal synthesis, conditions must be created as in the earth’s interior. Diamonds are formed by pressure and high temperatures. This is simulated by HPHT (High Pressure – High Temperature) presses and allows the memory diamonds to be created.

42 m high observation tower was completed in three strokes

The wood used for the construction of the tower comes directly from the hardwood forest. Approximately 310 cubic meters of wood were processed. The whole tower weighs a total of 190 tons. The challenge of stacking the weighty and large prefabricated elements of 42 tons each on top of each other was solved by means of crane work by EMIL EGGER AG. The modules were mounted on top of each other in three lifts up to a height of 42 m by means of a 450-tonne pneumatic crane.
