Millimeter-precise bridge assembly in Münchenstein - lifting in with LR 11000

In the night of 04. The third and final major crane lift as part of the bridge replacement project in Münchenstein was successfully completed on August 5, 2025: The new underwater bridge weighing 255 tons was precisely lifted into place with a 1000-ton crawler crane at a radius of 53 meters.

The work was carried out in extremely confined spaces and under complex conditions in the area of underground and adjacent infrastructure facilities – a particular challenge for planning and execution.

Review: The previous missions

The crawler crane had already been used for key work steps in the previous months:

  • June 2024
Dismantling of the existing upper water bridge
Moving the new upper water bridge onto the prepared shunting track
  • February 2025
Dismantling of the existing underwater bridge

Further services by EMIL EGGER

In addition to the crane work, EMIL EGGER was also responsible for extensive additional services:

  • Special transports of the new bridge sections with widths of over 6 meters
  • Crane work during unloading, assembly and installation at the installation site
  • Dismantling work on the old bridge sections including loading and removal

Together to success

We would like to sincerely thank our client and the building owner for the trusting and successful cooperation. This project is another example of how complex tasks can be mastered with precision, experience and teamwork.
