EMIL EGGER on the road electrically

First fully electrified construction site in Zurich

With the "e-construction site" project, the city of Zurich is pursuing the goal of testing the use of electrically powered construction site vehicles in order to reduce greenhouse gas and noise emissions and improve air quality.

An initial pilot project is currently being carried out on the Riedenhalden school grounds. Electric machines such as excavators, dumpers and wheel loaders are being used.

Electric trucks are also used for transporting materials and an electric truck mixer for delivering concrete. Electric cars are also used for employee transportation.

EMIL EGGER recently transported an electric excavator from Oberbüren to Zurich at short notice – using an electric tractor unit and a ramp trailer from the heavy goods logistics division.

We are delighted to be able to make a contribution to this sustainable project with our electrified transportation.

At the beginning of May, we were involved in the dismantling of the “Great Pflugfelder Bridge” in Kornwestheim. The truss bridge dates back to 1917 and crosses the tracks of an important shunting and transhipment yard in the greater Stuttgart area.
