Industrial relocation with special transport

Transport and placement of a 280 ton compressor

On behalf of Burckhardt Compression AG, Winterthur, we were allowed to lift a 280 t compressor from the production site in Winterthur with our 500 t lifting system, move it and then load it onto our 18-axle special low-loader. With a total weight of more than 420 t and a total length of almost 60 m, including the two impact vehicles, we then drove along cantonal roads in the direction of Auhafen/Basel.

There, the compressor was unloaded on time from our low-loader on 24 April 2023 and will soon begin its journey by ship to the customer overseas.

Due to the enormous transport width of over 7 m, dozens of traffic signs had to be dismantled and dozens of roundabouts, some of them quite narrow, had to be negotiated.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customer for the trust placed in us and the entire team for their great commitment to the success of this unusual special transport.

We are looking forward to further challenges for large and small goods. Even demanding transports are a pleasure when meticulous preparations ultimately lead to success.
