The historic warehouse – weighing around ten tons and almost eight metres wide and high – was moved from Rüfenacht to Worb. With an experienced team, a pneumatic crane and a low-bed trailer, we lifted the granary safely from its foundations, transported it and positioned it at its new location
“Our aim was not just to move technology, but history.”
– Dominik Rufer, Project Manager at EMIL EGGER AG
We would like to thank all partners involved – in particular the client Holzbau Partner AG, Eberhart Holzbau, but also the Worb youth work and those responsible for preserving this piece of history Marco Jorio (President of IG Worber Geschichte), Jonathan Gimmel (President of the Board of Trustees of the Bern Art Museum and the Paul Klee Center and President of the Worb youth work) – for the smooth cooperation. Together, we have helped to preserve a piece of Swiss building culture for future generations.
