With its headquarters in RiverNest, Zuchwil, Helion is now represented at 7 locations in Switzerland. The central warehouse is located at the EMIL EGGER AG site in Härkingen. Thanks to our diversified positioning in the areas of
- General cargo logistics
- Heavy lift logistics and
- Warehouse logistics
EMIL EGGER AG was able to win Helion Energy AG as an overall concept solution partner as a customer and to record the cooperation by signing a contract at the end of 2021. We are allowed to take over or set up the following processes:
- Warehouse logistics:
Incoming goods process, warehousing, order picking, just-in-time provision one day before the start of assembly and returns handling - Transport logistics:
Deliveries to construction sites throughout Switzerland within 24 hours of the goods being ordered from the central warehouse. Collections from suppliers throughout Switzerland and from neighboring countries - Heavy goods logistics:
Transporting and lifting goods using truck-mounted cranes or mobile construction cranes on construction sites throughout Switzerland. Thanks to our well-trained crane project managers, we were also able to support the project managers at Helion Energy AG in the concept phases.
After signing the contract at the end of 2021, the project work to optimize internal processes will begin. The schedule was very tight, but thanks to excellent cooperation, this stage was completed successfully and on time. The warehouse relocation and construction of the warehouse structures started in February 2022. Initially, a storage area of approx. 2,000 m² was planned. Due to the weak global supply chains, fueled by the outbreak of the Ukraine war and the aftermath of Covid, Helion decided to increase its storage capacity in order to increase its ability to supply its end customers. In the meantime, EMIL EGGER operated a storage area of approx. 10,000 m² for Helion at several warehouse locations.
Helion was integrated into the AMAG Group on November 1, 2022. AMAG imports and distributes various car brands and employs 7,500 people in Switzerland. Together with Clyde (car subscription), Helion is part of the Energy & Mobility division. As AMAG is committed to sustainable mobility solutions and CO2 reduction, the synergies between electromobility (AMAG) and renewable energies (Helion) are optimally utilized and promoted. The merger with AMAG has allowed Helion to grow even faster than expected. The Helion TrainingCenter was founded to drive forward the energy transition even more efficiently. Technically skilled career changers are trained as fitters and assembly supervisors. A full-size model detached house with a pitched and flat roof was built in a warehouse in order to provide practical training, just like on a real construction site. More than 200 skilled workers are trained in this TrainingCenter every year. But Helion is not only growing in terms of personnel – logistics is also growing rapidly. Supply chain tensions have flattened in recent months, which has led to a reduction in storage space. Today, Helion requires around 5,000 m² of storage space. EMIL EGGER stores, picks and delivers the numerous solar modules including accessories, storage and charging solutions as well as heat pumps directly to the construction site.
In a very short space of time, Helion Energy AG has become one of EMIL EGGER’s top 5 customers and shows that it is the overall concept that makes the difference: Great versatility and the right strategic alliances help to achieve success.
