190 TONS OF RAILWAY SUBWAY PLACED

CRANE WORK AT MARTIGNY RAILWAY STATION

The LR 11000 was erected for the placement of a 190-tonne passenger subway at Martigny railway station in the Valais. The parts of the giant crane were delivered with 25 tugs and assembled with a mobile crane.

After many hours of meticulous preparation, the heavy, prefabricated passenger subway was placed in its final location with centimetre precision in just 60 minutes, with the help of the 1000-ton crane from EMIL EGGER.

The scene was the Martigny railway station, the complex operation took place directly under tracks 1 and 2. Many thanks to all involved for this masterpiece!

Recovery after train accident
At the end of March, a violent storm blew a three-car train composition off the tracks in Lüscherz, Bern. Of the 16 passengers on the train at the time, three were injured. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. EMIL EGGER AG was entrusted with the rescue.

On Wednesday 9.2.2022 in the course of the afternoon, in the Vaud Alps, a railcar of the Villars-sur-Ollon – Bretaye rack railroad was buried by an avalanche and plunged down the slope. Fortunately, except for the driver, there were no persons on board and there were no injuries. Until then, no comparable event had ever occurred on this slope.
