With a total weight of around 330 t and a total train length of 45 m, this is no everyday undertaking.
The heavy transport needed two whole nights to cover a distance that would take around 1.5 hours by car.
Why so slow?
On the one hand, due to the heavy weight, not a single meter of freeway could be driven and several detours were necessary to cross the bridges designed for such loads, and on the other hand, the large transport width of almost 6 m required the dismantling of panels and signals in many places, which also took a certain amount of time.
The next day, the compressor was transshipped at the port and then continued its journey by ship. An impressive feat of heavy-lift logistics and manpower that shows what is possible with team spirit and engineering skills!
