A 450-tonne mobile crane from EMIL EGGER was used for this challenging installation. The work took place during a tight night-time window and required meticulous preparation, precise coordination between all parties involved, and the utmost concentration during execution. <\/p>\n

The Heideweg Bridge is in a poor state of repair and is therefore undergoing extensive refurbishment. The existing central section is being replaced to ensure the long-term usability of this important link. Several night-time closures were necessary to carry out the demolition work above Bernstrasse. <\/p>\n

Special thanks go to B+S AG for their expert project support and engineering services, and to Marti AG Solothurn, the main contractor, for their professional cooperation during the construction work and the on-site demolition work.<\/p>\n

Following the successful dismantling, the next step is already planned: the new section of the bridge will be lifted into place at a later date using a tandem lift involving a 650-tonne and a 450-tonne mobile crane from EMIL EGGER.<\/p>\n

Projects such as these clearly demonstrate what is essential for challenging crane operations in the infrastructure sector: experience, well-rehearsed procedures, precise lifting techniques and strong collaboration between all those involved in the project.<\/p>\n

During the night of 16 to 17 June 2026, EMIL EGGER was involved in the dismantling of the Heideweg Bridge in Biel.
